OXZO delivers Oxymovil units to Laxey
Laxey in Iceland has recently strengthened its land-based aquaculture operations with two newly delivered Oxymovil oxygen generators from OXZO.
The delivery provides both increased operational robustness and improved redundancy—key priorities for a rapidly growing aquaculture company. Laxey is located on the Vestmann Islands, Vestmannaeyjar, in Iceland, where the company operates significant land-based aquaculture facilities.
– We learned about OXZO through our co-operation with Oxymat, says Hallgrímur (Halli) Steinsson, COO and one of the three founders of Laxey.
Additional security and redundancy
For Laxey, Oxymovil by OXZO provides safety and operational stability.
– The system provides us with additional cover and redundancy, enabling us to push our other resources with peace of mind that the oxygen needs are well covered, Halli explains.
He adds that they are very satisfied with how the process unfolded.
– From the first talks to installation it was very quick—probably less than a month from initiating the discussions to having the first oxygen delivered into our system.
Installation and commissioning
An OXZO team with members from Norway and Chile travelled to Iceland to install the Oxymovil generators shortly after the initial inquiry.
– We had the equipment in stock in Norway, so we were able to respond rapidly. We brought the team together and went to Iceland. There we connected the power supply on a Thursday afternoon, and from Friday the system was up and running – and has been since. After the initial phase we spent time commissioning and calibrating the new system, says Svein Arve Tronsgård from OXZO Technologies Norway.
Professional and trustworthy work
Halli emphasizes that their experience with OXZO has been very positive.
– The OXZO commissioning staff went above and beyond in making sure that the system was fully integrated before they signed off on the commissioning. They have since been in contact with our staff on a regular basis and seem to have a complete understanding of the technology, Halli reports.
Summary
- Laxey’s deployment of two Oxymovil oxygen generators marks a significant reinforcement of their land-based aquaculture operations.
- Rapid delivery, smooth commissioning and a high degree of technical follow-up from OXZO have contributed to increased redundancy, improved operational reliability and strengthened confidence in the system’s long-term performance.
